What’s up, guys? I’m Vanri from Real Women of Gaming. You may also know me as Xander from 9th Circle of Horror or Anna (A.E.) Johnston from my other publications.
I grew up in a small town in northern Ohio, then moved to the Philadelphia area when I was 15. I’ve played all sorts of video games ever since I was too young to understand what I was doing. The first game I ever beat without help was Chrono Trigger. I particularly enjoyed RPGs and fighting games when I was a kid.
There was a time period where I didn’t play many games because I didn’t think I was any good at them. I call that period the dark ages, and it took place during my high school years. Finally, in college, I got my Xbox 360 and a brand new gaming computer. I let myself get hooked again, even if I couldn’t beat every game.
I currently play mainly PC games, but I also enjoy playing on my Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
I have a degree in writing from West Chester University. I am the co-creator of the website
9th Circle of Horror. I’m a writer and editor, both creatively and professionally. I’ve written for other publications, such as The Television Academy, Medium, Don’t Hate the Geek and Frags and Beer. I’ve also finished three novels and several short stories.
