Review: The Order: Season Two

Who doesn’t love a secret society? But what happens when the secrets are found, the society members are unmasked, and when the big bad has been defeated?

What could possibly happen next in the story?

One answer is a special powder that makes you forget.

**Beware spoilers below**

Season Two starts off with the consequences of Season One, which I reviewed here. Coventry may be dead but that just means that there has been a power vacuum that Vera is trying her best to fill. The Knights have been spelled to forget their pasts and given new identities by The Order. As Order members struggle to keep the Knights from remembering, new magical threats are creeping out of the shadows.

When the Knights regain their memories what will happen next? Can the two societies coexist for the greater good? Can they work together against a greater threat? Perhaps the prejudices are too old.

And what about our lovers? Can they put the past behind them to get a new chance? Can their bond bring others together?

There were a lot of things to like about Season Two of The Order. It has a really interesting premise. I loved the idea of a fresh start via magic. I really enjoyed the costumes, which they used to show the changes all the characters were going through. The soundtrack for this show is always good. The sets are always a great tool for the story as well.

My one complaint isn’t with the show itself but with the network because it has been canceled. The story was setting up for so much. Yes it can be seen as an ending but it is a weak one. Clearly the writers had more they were working toward. Characters were coming to their own. New stories were just starting. Now we will never know and that always makes me angry. That is not the fault of the writers though.

I still recommend Seasons One and Two of The Order. I think it is a fun show with great supernatural lore. I love how they presented werewolves. The magic system for The Order was phenomenal. It was a refreshing story set with magic. The slow unraveling of secretes made the storyline compelling every season.

I really enjoy this show.

So what are you waiting for? Go find the magic. Even as short as it lasted.

ALWAYS KEEP SPARKLING!!!
