A show about making a show is always going to be interesting. Particularly when you get into the territory of a second season. There will always be a level of fourth wall breaking that makes the viewing even more fun. All of the uncertainty. The excitement. It is all being acted out on screen and that makes it special.
Season two of GLOW is just that. A special peek behind the curtain of making the second season of something.
The story picks up just a few months where we left everyone in Season One. We are back at the Glowtel full of hope and familiar faces but some changes have happened. The show has a sponsor now and a time slot! The pressure is on to make the show look, well, gorgeous. There is also the awkward task of everyone finding their footing with a new format and new storylines.

GLOW continues to take a hard look at the realities of wrestling for women. Of trying to find moves to use. Being sexy but not too sexy. Unwanted attention from men, even the men in charge who you should be able to trust. Push back for being considered less than male counterparts. Racism and how that can hurt now only the wrestler but also their families. Juggling motherhood and such a time consuming career.
With all the hardships also come the things that bring the wrestlers together. Their friendships continue to strengthen. The silly gimmicks and laughs are even bigger. The makeup is amazing. The costumes are phenomenal. Their use shows the audience the journey that the women are going on and how they transition into their in ring personas.
The soundtrack is, as always, banger after banger.
If you are interested in wrestling give this show a watch. If you love the 1980s aesthetic you should give it a watch. If you are interested in seeing a bunch of women overcome obstacles while growing then don’t wait. Honestly just watch GLOW. It is one of my favorite shows and season two is just a hell of a ride.
ALWAYS KEEP SPARKLING!!!
