From Seasons 1-3 are available now streaming on MGM+!

If you’re into tense, mouth-dropping, tear-jerking shows, I’d highly recommend checking out From by MGM. It’s the perfect mix of mystery, sci-fi, and psychological supernatural weirdness that leaves you questioning everything.

At first glance, the plot is simple: people find themselves stuck in a town they can’t escape, with monsters who wander about at night, making life even more hellish for the residents. What hooks you, is the way the show dives into the deeper fear of that circumstance and how it affects characters mentally. Every episode (10 per season) exposes another piece of the puzzle, but when you think you’re getting answers, the show throws in more questions.

Harold Perrineau (Fans of Lost would recognize him) is awesome as Boyd, the town’s appointed sheriff. On the outside, he looks like he has it together, a true leader. In private, though, he is just trying to keep from unraveling like everyone else. Eion Bailey, as Jim, and Catalina Sandino Moreno, as his wife, Tabitha, bring so much depth and emotion as parents trying hard to keep their family safe amid their internal battles. The ensemble cast is strong, and their performances make the story feel real despite all the chaos.

Where From truly shines is how the show plays with paranoia and fear. It leaves you unsure of who you can trust or what’s before your eyes—it’s brilliant! There are moments when you think, “Wait, what is even happening?!” and then question everything. That tight knot you feel when trying to figure out what will happen next sticks with you long after you’ve watched an episode. I usually need a couple of days between episode watches to work through what I saw in the previous episode.

From is more than just a spooky show—it’s a mind-bender. With a clever, slow-burn story and top-tier acting, it’s the kind of show that makes you think while also scaring you. It’s worth the watch if you love thrillers with a supernatural twist.
