TogtherCon 2022: That’s a Wrap!

It is always wonderful when people can come together and make something really special happen. Every year I am blown away by TogtherCon. It continues to get bigger and better. That is in no small part due to a lot of hard work by staff, attendees and those who put on all of our fun. Panels, workshops, live shows and even movies that get played during the day all have hours put in to make them perfect. To make this convention the best we can.

As per our protocol SaltyHylian opened the virtual doors of the discord channel to TogtherCon on April 23rd. I have to say this is one of my favorite traditions, as a staff member who has been here for all three years I have loved seeing how our opening and morning routines are evolving every year. We had horror movies playing with Henry, a new addition that was a lot of fun and really added something to the convention! Vaughn made sure to share their morning stretches with con goers for the second year in a row, which is a great way to start these busy days. On the second day Rilie showed anime to con-goers. A lot of new anime was discovered and we all have a lot of viewing to do.

We had some really phenomenal panels this year. We discussed everything from gaming mechanics to what it is like to be a minority who loves horror and everything in between. We had four Tabletop Role Playing Games for attendees and staff to enjoy. We also had gaming tables for folks who wanted to play something with friends new and old. Of course there was a cosplay corner for talented and creative cosplayers. The Vender’s Tables were so tempting and full of treasures! I know con-goers had to leave with lighter wallets.

Most importantly though there were a lot of great discussions. Folks gathered in various places at the convention to exchange ideas, opinions, games, wares and tips. Friendships were struck up in panel chat rooms. Ideas for new games made at tables. Panels tackled hard topics. Panelest also shared a lot of laughs.

This third year of TogtherCon really was a magic one. We still had a lot to learn but it really feels like things are falling into place. We really are finding our footing and it is continuing to be a place for us all to come together, safely.

The staff here at Real Women of Gaming will continue to work hard to make this convention better every year. To make it more fun. To have less technical difficulties, but let’s face it, would it be a RWOG event without technical difficulties?

We also want to deeply thank everyone who helped us this year. Thank you to folks who worked so hard to join us. Thank you for spending your weekend with us. Thank you for all of it because it is all magical. Thank you for being the reason we get to do this. Thank you to every attendee. You make this all possible!

Thank you to all of our amazing sponsors! I don’t even have words for how grateful I am to them.

I, personally, also want to take a moment to thank all of the staff. Y’all did fantastic!

We will see you all next year.

ALWAYS KEEP SPARKLING!!!
