Top 10 Gifts For Your DM

As players we love to roll dice, kill monsters, and not have to deal with the crunchy side of things on the other side of the DM screen. If you really appreciate your DM and want to show some gratitude here is a list of gifts in no particular order

1: Dice. We all love dice in this fandom. More click clack math rocks to roll around is always good. It’s an even better gift if your DM needs an infusion of luck

2: Offer to run a one-shot. Seriously most of us know a forever DM who rarely gets to play. Dip your toe in the water and give them a brief vacation

3: A dice tray. Sure it’s very close to dice, but a new tower, carrying case, or tray to present them awesome crits they roll is awesome.

4: Food. If you play face to face, prep some of the DMs favorite snacks, or meals. Bribing the DM with food will actually gain you a level in some games, I hear. If you play online, use a food app to send them a pizza.

5: Subscription to a VTT. So you play on roll20, but your DM doesn’t have a pro account. Get the party to chip in and upgrade the tools your DM can use. Maybe spring for map software instead.

6: A tee shirt or mug. I have a T shirt with my online handle on it and I love it. I also have a coffee mug with #ZombieDaddy on it, for when I need caffeine to fuel my horror schemes.

7: A review. If you play through an online site like StartPlaying.Games then your DM makes a living off of running games. The more reviews they have will enable them to keep doing the thing you want them to keep doing.

8: A tip. I know, if you already pay to play, why tip? chances are your DM might only be charging for your time at the table, and not for all the prep time they put into making the game possible. Also, a good DM will be able to answer your questions in between sessions as well.

9: Books or supplements. Something new is on the horizon and you want to play? Presenting it to your DM is a great way to not so subtly hint you want to play it.
