There are some big things coming from DC. One of the oldest names in the comics industry is truly looking to spoil fans. October 16, 2021 DC had its second annual DC FanDome online and it was a blast. I hadn’t been able to attend last year due to work. Let me tell you I jumped at the chance this time and am glad that I did.
I was so happy to have a safe, online event where I could get hyped up for all that is coming out! The Hall of Justice was opened to us all and it was wonderful. There will be something for every kind of fan coming out, whether you prefer comics or streamable content. I am going to highlight some of my favorites. Click below the cut, but beware there will be some spoilers for announcements from the event. Enjoy!
Like I said above these are just some of the announcements. I would highly recommend watching the event. I love superheroes and DC has some of my very first superheroes.
First of all, the Black Adam movie. It stars Dwayne Johnson, a fantastic choice, and will be released July 29, 2022. This movie looks like it is going to be amazing.
Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom will be out in December of 2022. I loved the first movie. The mix of lore and superheroes go hand in hand in my book. I can’t wait.
The Milestone Incentive is a project that I am so beyond excited for. This collaboration will be working to identify emerging and diverse talent within the comic book industry. There have been amazing stories released through the years and it is great that now they are getting to partner with DC. Please click the link to learn more about this great partnership and how to nominate.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is a new game that features everyone’s favorite villains. Amanda Waller has a new mission for a team of her squad. The trailer was revealed at Fandome this year and left many of us wondering what happened to the Justice League. It looks like it is going to be a great game!
My Adventures with Superman is an animated feature that is up and coming. I love the art for it already! I cannot wait for this show.
The Flash trailer was also dropped in the Hall of Justice. Barry will be getting his own story on the big screen. The Scarlet Speedster looks like he is going to have an amazing adventure.
Injustice: the story behind this movie is kind of interesting. Typically, comics inspire movies which inspire games. In this case, it is a series of two games that have inspired this movie. These games were so fun to play and I am excited to see the story animated in movie form.
Blue Beetle was teased and we couldn’t be happier for this hero to finally be getting a movie! The artwork looks so good. The cast and crew are stoked and so am I.
Gotham Knights is an announcement that I was a little wild over. Honestly, I would like to apologise in advance for the person I will be leading up to and during the release of this game. After the death of Bruce Wayne, players will be able to choose Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl or Red Robin to play and investigate. The shocking reveal of who the big bad will be is…something that I feel the need to be “hushed” about because never a world should be-
Here is the point where I gush about projects about three of my favorite characters in the DC Universe from a young age. These three were my first loves.
Catwoman: Hunted is something I am beyond excited for. Catwoman is celebrating 80 years in the industry and this animated movie looks like it will be a great way to do that. I never thought she would be getting such a cool looking animated film of her own. I am so glad for it.
Batgirl is finally going to get her own movie! I have been waiting for years for Babs to get such a project. The excitement of the cast is palpable. The art that was dropped looks so cool.
Wonder Woman was celebrated as well, as she should be, as it has been 80 years for her in the industry. Patty Jenkins and Linda Carter had a conversation that had me in tears. I am so grateful for passionate people who love Wonder Woman as much as I do. DC has some fun in store so Believe in Wonder.
No DC event would be complete without news about Billy and his family. Shazam! Fury of the Gods is the next chapter for Billy. It will be out some time in 2023 and I cannot wait.
The Batman is the newest Batman movie. Following the transformation of Bruce to Batman and it may not be going well. The movie, however, looks amazing. I squealed a few times out of excitement during the new trailer.
Again, this article only highlighted some of what was announced and celebrated during DC Fandome. I hope you are as excited as I am! I am happy to see the steps that DC is taking to be more diverse. There is always more to be done to become people that Clark would be proud of, but these changes are very good ways to start.
Oh, and one last thing: Superman has a new motto. “TRUTH, JUSTICE, AND A BETTER TOMORROW.”
I think this could not come at a better time in our world. These are great words to reflect on and try to live by, especially these days.
ALWAYS KEEP SPARLING!!!
