E-WIN Pink Bunny Chair Review

A couple months back E-WIN was nice enough to send me an E-WIN Champion Series Ergonomic Computer Gaming Office Chair With Pillows, Pink Bunny for review. I have to admit that I was excited. A huge problem for gamers is an adequate chair that will be comfortable, and this is made much harder when you are plus-sized. It’s hard to find a chair that will not be a constant reminder that the world isn’t built for people our size. When it comes to streaming, of course, we want a flashy-looking chair that people can see but it also has to stick with us for long hours, extra work, late nights, and so on.

I didn’t want to write this review right away, I wanted to give the chair time to talk for itself. Sitting in a chair for a day before writing a review doesn’t tell you much of anything. I want to write another review a year from now to see how the chair holds up.

Let’s talk about assembly. This chair is HEAVY. The box is a BEAST and much bigger than I expected it to be.

The star shaped base is metal and sturdy but the wheels are the most impressive to me. Most chairs come with some seriously cheap wheels that will break, grab everything, or give out. The wheels that come with this chair feel strong and I don’t believe I will have to replace them anytime soon and I love that.

When it came time to assemble, I ran into my first problem: the instructions. The instructions I was sent were for a different chair with, what seems to be, an older tilt/swivel mechanism. The difference between the instructions had me a little confused and I didn’t put it on correctly. I even searched up a YouTube video of someone else reviewing a chair and they put this part on the wrong way also. Also, the images for assembly were in a weird order. I expected them to be left to right, next line, left to right, etc. However, it was left to right, down one, right to left, down one, etc. Pictures of black plastic on black fabric made it hard to tell where some parts went.

I eventually figured it out but not without much frustration. I put the whole chair together, but it took longer than needed and I was rather sore afterward.

I recommend putting it together in the room that you will be using it, if at all possible. Again, this is a heavy chair. Unfortunately, I don’t have a ton of space in my room so it had to be done in the living room and then moved upstairs.

So now I have the chair put together and at my computer desk. The construction overall feels strong. Nothing wobbles or is loose, which is great. The pillow at the head is nice when I’ve been working a long time and need to rest. The arms of the chair are very nice too. Moving up and down, forward and backward, and even tilting out away from you or towards your body, they allow for a greater variety of seated positions for different people.

The back pillow isn’t as nice. It feels bigger than it needs to be for me and I had to keep adjusting it to stay in the curve of my back. It is held on by clipped bands of elastic through the chairback, so it won’t fall off the chair which is a bonus. But it also doesn’t have a way to keep it in place so it slips. I have back issues that require a pillow in a specific spot, so this was a constant battle. If one were willing to possibly mess up the upholstery, you could get some hook and loop tape (also known as Velcro™) on the pillow and secure it down to fix problem, however. So not a deal breaker.

It does sit a bit on the taller side. Even at its lowest I had to keep my feet on the legs and I’m 5’7. But the gas lift cylinder didn’t feel like it was going to give out even when roughly sitting down.

It doesn’t feel very plus-sized friendly, unfortunately. The seat of the chair was wide enough for me to sit comfortably but not for my husband. However, my 8-year-old daughter LOVES the chair. She doesn’t care that her feet are dangling. She says it’s very comfortable and she likes the pillows. The bunny ears and tail in addition to the pale pink color is just adorable in her eyes. I like that it moves on carpet so easily so she doesn’t struggle moving it. Telling you, those wheels are awesome.

Overall, I have to admit that this chair is not for me or my husband. A few tweaks are needed to make it truly something we could use as a family. But that isn’t to say it isn’t for you. This is just my own experience with it.

Funny note: The back of the chair has a bunny face on it to go with the bunny theme. Harley, my 15 lb. Boston Terrier/French Bulldog, takes this as a sign of hostility. She growls and barks at the chair as if to warn off the predatory rabbit, waiting to murder us in our sleep. This is hilarious and is definitely an unintended bonus.
