10 Horror Games I may or may not play

If you know me, you know I love horror games but I can be too scared to play them. When that happens I get them for KinkedNitemare to play so I can watch. Here is a list of games I may or may not play depending on how much of a scardy bitch baby I’m being.

In no particular order… except numerical…

10. Silent Hill Townfall
Little is known yet about Silent Hill Townfall but it doesn’t matter to me, it’s a Silent Hill game and I’m here for it. Here to watch it, that is. I have loved the Silent Hill franchise since I saw the very first game on PlayStation. Again, I’ve never played a game but the story and the atmosphere has always been amazing.

9. Silent Hill f

Another Silent Hill game that we know very little about. What is known is that it takes place in the greater area of Japan, not Silent Hill. I won’t be playing it but I cannot wait to watch it!

8. Layers of Fears

The third installment in the Layers of Fear collection. I streamed the first one and may do the second one, though the first one did have triggers for me we weren’t aware of at the time. The first game was amazing. There is DLC that I watched but didn’t play. I know little about the second game but I will definitely fix that before this one is released. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us this time.

7. State of Decay 3

Another game we know little about yet. I didn’t play the first one but loved playing the second, even with its disappointing (to me) multiplayer. I hope that the third installment also has multiplayer and a lot of advancement from the second game. There is something I love about zombie games and working together but if it has multiplayer, this is definitely something I’ll be playing.

6. Silent Hill 2 Remake

Look, I know Silent Hill is already on this list twice but when you love a franchise, you love a franchise. It isn’t something I will be playing but I can’t wait to see my friends play it. I know there was a lot of hate for the Resident Evil remakes but I loved them and that makes me curious about what is coming to Silent Hill.

5. Sons of the Forest

So, I do own The Forest, even if I haven’t really played it. I have a plan to beat the game and it will take several of us to make it happen. If they have Sons of the Forest set up in the same way then I think I can definitely pull it off a second time. I love my survival games but the all-hands or legs things that attack you are a bit much. I’ve fought some weird things in video games but holy crap.

4. Resident Evil 4 Remake

I can’t have the Silent Hill remake without the Resident Evil remake. I have enjoyed watching all the remakes and I will enjoy watching this one. As someone who watched or played a lot of these games when they originally came out, seeing them with updated graphics rocks. These classics were and still are amazing games. I wonder what other classics are going to see remakes.

3. Dead Space Remake

I know, I know. There are so many remakes here. It’s hard not to root for remakes of games that are amazing. I’ve never played it but love watching other people play it. There is something about horror in space that has always appealed to me and this one checks so many boxes. I can’t wait to see what is different. It does strike me as odd though that we have a remake right after The Callisto Protocol came out since it seems to be a spiritual successor.

2. Alone in the Dark

Another game is seeing a revival in 2023 and I really wonder if they are going to do it justice. 2023 seems to be full of horror remakes and Alone in the Dark is definitely deserving of one. Also, shout out to the movie that tried. I liked it but I know it wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

1. Outlast Trials

I played and loved the beta so I am super excited to get back into it. The beta was the best beta I ever played. Smooth, clean, and put together. I can’t wait to see what’s in store. You may know, I never got far in Outlast but I’ve watched both games and the DLC. I’m having trouble fitting this one into the very weird timeline they have.

What are you excited about?
